How does one approach a review about a much read classic like Frankenstein? I don‘t know if the following truly can be called a review. I have a lot to say about the book but a review is definitely not the right place for that. A book club or a conversation with a friend would be.
For me this was a reread. With much improved english since the first time back in Gymnasium.
I really enjoyed my read this time. Underlining my favourite quotes, writing my thoughts and feelings into the margins and annotating (what I rarely do/would always have to remind myself to do) came naturally.
The writing was so good, the voices of Frankenstein and his creation clearly different from each other and specifically the creation’s voice was fascinating to read.
The descriptions of the feelings and moods were done so well. I underlined a lot.
This book is definitely one that I need talk about with other people. I also have a lot to look up now. It’s a story I will enjoy rereading a lot because I think every time there will be something new to discover and talk about.
And towards the end I wanted to reread Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde as well. Another story about a man following his scientific obsession creating something impossible.
