I stumbled across this novel through a good friend who was rereading the series. Boy am I glad for her book recommendations because this was a delight. The cast of characters or should I say crew of characters that the reader follows through space in this novel are a delight to read about. The science fiction setting is perfect for embracing non-heteronormative characters without having to put them through the at times hard realities of contemporary life. While it isn’t a utopia, the future as imagined in this story is certainly something I wouldn’t mind happening. I laughed, I cried, I had a fantastic time and immediately bought the other books in the series for my tbr.
