John Douglas, the FBI’s Mindhunter and famous profiler, takes a new look at cases that happened a long time ago but are still haunting us today. His interpretations are impressive, and his behavioural analysis brings some new insights. Those cases would have had a better outcome if his analysis unit had existed around that time. Some of the crime scenes he could investigate himself, and others Douglas reinterprets based on facts collected during the investigation. The profiling technique that his team uses today can be applied to every case, no matter how long ago the crime was committed. What I especially liked was the conclusion after every case, which also includes John Douglas’ own thoughts about the investigation. What could have been done better, or about profiling in general. It is not so much about his own career or private life; for that, you have to read the book Mindhunter, which I also enjoyed reading.
