I read this as a sort of palate cleanser after reading the brick of a novel that was ‘Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell’ (don’t get me wrong I liked the book but oh boy was that a long book and slow read at times). I knew going into this that I was looking for something silly and unchallenging and this is exactly what I got. A fun, silly and at times a bit fanfiction-esque book with lovable characters and a mostly predictable but lovely plot. I started this book with the right expectations and got exactly what I wanted from it.
