2.5 ⭐️ rounded up. This is a dark, very bloody, very gory romantasy with lots and lots of spice. Mind the content warnings in the beginning of the book.
It started promising and very interesting. The world with the realm of gods and the realm of humans is fleshed out and well described. Sadly the story got repetitive really quickly. Nearing the end I was almost bored. There’s just too much of everything. And we end up with trials again. That weren’t good or very believable.
I guess I‘m interested enough to read about Theo and Bastien if there should be a second book in this series. Both of them seem to be intriguing characters. So there might be hope in the future.
