A story about fae, and what happens to those who crave inspiration but aren’t deemed worthy of it!
This is a deeply upsetting and disturbing novel to me. If you can’t read a story about emotional abuse of an authority figure from the view of a child, this book is probably not for you.
I barely held on and had to finish the story (there’s a good happy end from my POV) because it is, despite the quite intensely-written abuse, very well written and captivating.
Definitely a mixed bag.
