I read this book while on holiday in Costa Rica and enjoyed knowing about the places.
Gabriel has devoted his life to save the sea turtles. But recently he has become aware that some shady stuff is going on on the beach, beyond the usual “hueveros” (thieves of the turtle eggs). The governement doesn’t take him seriously and isn’t willing to send more security. So one day he is killed. Laura, a american volunteer and Daniela, his business partner want to continue his lifes work and find out what happend, with the help of lead investigator Antonio.
The interesting crime case kept me on reading and the side love story ensured some additional tension. I really enjoyed the book besides the ending, the case got solved, but the rest remainded open.
