This book wasn’t bad per se but it was unnecessary, imo.
It didn’t add much to the story in terms of relevant info. Sure, there was more content but it mostly wasn’t anything I as a reader couldn’t gather from reading the first three books in the series - especially when it came to the way Cardan viewed the world and how he felt.
Plus, to me, this title was poorly chosen … unless I missed something crucial, it didn’t feel like Cardan learned to hate stories.
I’m glad that I’ve read it, however, since I had it in my bookshelf and it was a reminder of how I haven’t finished the series yet (I don’t like not finishing series most of the time), but it was rather anticlimactic.
