This book is all about love. Jay Shetty presents eight rules on how to love on four different levels: how to love yourself, others, how to love through struggle, and lastly on how to love everyone/the world. He discusses the topic with the help of old, traditional wisdom, with his own experience, as well as more modern concepts.
So although many of the insights are not brand new (they are rather common knowledge), you can gain a new perspective on many aspects about love.
Some examples that stuck with me:
-Parental gifts & gaps
-Viewing your partner as a guru (& vice-versa for your partner)
-How to argue productively
Many insights can be also transferred to non-romantic relationships, which makes this book even more helpful. You can find many little exercises through the book, to apply the theory into practice. I think anyone can learn something from this book, regardless of the life stage in which you are (single, in a relationship, separated/divorced).
I would recommend this book to everyone who wants to practice love more deeply and more effective, and to everyone who wants to understand more about love. Not everything will be new, but I think you can get the most out of it with the integrated exercises.
