Victoria Barnett has everything, a good job, a loving husband and a lovely house. She couldn’t wish for a better place to start her own family, everything had gone as planned, until her accident turned her life completely upside down. All the dreams Victoria had are now forever out of her reach, she can’t even take care of herself, and she’s fully dependent on her husband. Unable to walk or to speak, the lovely house has become her confinement.
Sylvia Robinson is hired to take care of her, but she soon discovers inconsistencies in and around the house and Sylvia learns not to believe what she sees or hears. The more time she spends on the estate, the more she has the feeling that something is completely wrong. And it all has to do with the woman upstairs in the wheelchair and her husband.
This book gets your mind working as you read. With so many twists, it is impossible to work out where the story might lead. That was the impression I had, I would never have guessed the explosive ending. A conclusion where everything fits together and makes sense with twists to the last page. If you are interested in psychological thrillers, then this is the right book for you.
