As this book has a plus-size main character I was so looking forward to reading this. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed. 1 star is for some of the cute scenes and the sentences and thoughts I could relate to, and 1 star is for the performance of the male narrator. The Scottish accent will for ever have my heart race and leave me weak at the knees.
The rest is just too ‘tropey’ and too inauthentic in my opinion. It was too far-fetched most of the time - for my taste at least. Particularly the development of their relationship and the ending. I would have liked to see a more honest discussion, but I guess as soon as the love interest is “smoking hot” words and actions are forgiven in a jiffy - I know, that’s very provocative to say, but it sometimes feels like that in romance books.
If you don’t mind or even like dreamy and inauthentic writing, then this might be for you - just please listen to it, as the male narrator will most likely get under your skin 😉
