A true crime classic about the most horrible crimes in American history.
A journalist’s relentless search for the truth of the Son of Sam murders. At first, the spotlight is on David Berkowitz, a suspect in all the killings. But did he really act alone? That’s one of the questions Maury Terry wants to find an answer to.
There are various actual crime books on the market, the ultimate Evil is definitely worth reading. If you know nothing of the Son of Sam murder, like me, then this is the right book for you. But even then with time, it’s more a chore than a pleasure to keep on reading. The wander off to other possibly connected cases is far too long, a shorter reference would have sufficed. Without those, in my opinion, unnecessary parts, the book would have been more fun to read. All in all an interesting topic and the author’s dedication is felt throughout the book. The epilogue is a suitable conclusion, and I think the author could in the end find the answers he was looking for in the first place.
