There are many reasons to kill, committed by ordinary people like you and me. For the love they crave, the sex they desire, greed for money or hate of betrayal. They would kill for anything. To kill someone for the most unreasonable reasons is too shocking to comprehend.
Known serial killers are mentioned too, but mostly it’s about murders that happen around us, within families, friends or marriages.
I can’t say which chapter is the most gruesome because they all are. The chapters are not overly long, the post-scripts deliver a fitting conclusion to each one. With this, you are ready to move to the next case, with a clear mind and ready to digest what comes. The author reveals all the necessary facts, without getting into too much detail. Easy to follow and understand a fast-paced read.
A very thought-provoking book, about how humankind can be so cruel. What drives someone to act so radical? This may be a topic for another book.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading it. I am now more aware that crimes like this also happen close to us, without us noticing it until it’s too late.
