Our ocean is so vast, and difficult to control, and everyone does as he pleases.
I have picked this book because the topic, the author is writing about sounded interesting. What Ian Urbina reveals goes far beyond what we already know, it is shocking and has opened my eyes.
This book is only the first step in solving several problems and while reading, it gets clear that we can only end those crimes when everyone works together. But this seems to be an unsurmountable task, as every government has its own rules or does not even care. Usually, we only see how the animals in the ocean are affected by pollution, etc. In this book, we learn about the ocean itself.
The topics in this book are very informative, if only they were presented more interestingly. Some parts were so tedious to read, that I had to put the book to the side and read something else. Only to come back at a later time and proceed from there. That isn’t typically my strategy for reading a book, but I had no choice with this one.
