What would we do with a box like this, could we restrain ourselves from not pushing the buttons? A question I was asking myself while reading this first part about Gwendy Peterson and her life.
When Gwendy receives this peculiar box from a stranger, she doesn’t know what to make of it. Most of all she wonders what would happen if she pushed one of the buttons.
The power of these buttons seems unmeasurable, but they appear to have an effect on Gwendy’s life if good or bad that remains to be seen.
Though short, Stephen King and Richard Chizmar have created an easy-to-follow story.
I usually am not a short story fan, I like the author’s longer stories more. But as this is a three-part series, I was curious and gave it a try, but it didn’t knock my socks off. Maybe the whole story would have been better if not written as a short story and not divided into three parts.
It seems that I am still not a fan of short stories.
Others, who like short stories might enjoy this first part Stephen King Fans alike.
