This book is insanely gripping and doesn‘t let you go until the last words of the last page. The writing style is dark and beautiful, the author almost makes you forget that you‘re actually reading instead of living in the scene. Schwab‘s characters have more than one layer, which makes their thoughts and actions complex enough to be interpreted in various ways and simultaneously keeps the plot unpredictable. Although this books can be counted to the genre of fantasy, it‘s essence is based not on the powers of the characters, but on the interplay between them.
Would recommend to anyone who‘s a fan of dark fantasy and psychological thrillers.
