I expected this to be a perfect book for summer (the cover looks summery).
I thought this would be about a developing friendship, love and some secrets (to be honest I haven’t read the blurb all too carefully…).
Instead of a light book I got four teenagers who have to go on a river trip (with a guide) for their journalism course in high school.
At the beginning the teens don’t really like each other but they grow closer.
The boat trip seems to go well, but then there’s a storm and the group has some problems (the guide did not bring a special phone along, because he thought it to be superfluous - but the mother of the protagonist died on a boat trip on which she has been accompanied by this guide! Why does he still work as a guide??)
It was quite a dull book even though the plot took an unexpected dark turn and it was only 224 pages long.
So if you are looking for a novel to read during summer, I don’t recommend this one.
